When we decided on a release date for the single, we also storyboarded a music video, and shot test footage at the abandoned Lake Forest Mall and in downtown Frederick, but never completed the project. Metropolis - which Nick was viewing in Film History class while writing the first draft of Beat City lyrics - happened to enter the public domain in 2023, the very same year we planned to release the song. So Nick took a chance editing the film from 3 hours down to 10 minutes.
